I was writing too quickly, I think – what I meant was that the theological details (the differences between Anglicans and Catholicism at the time) were lost on me to some degree. Completely agreed about the other stuff, though! And on the need to re-read.

Are there other good editions of Browne out there? The annotation in the Patrides was very helpful, for me at least – a fully annotated edition of the Pseudodoxia or the correspondence would be fantastic, but a cursory scan doesn’t suggest that such a thing is out there.
